Windows Explorer is set to 'Search this PC' but I always first click on the folder I want to search in. The only files I search for are on that internal server drive, never in the main C: drive. It is set up as a Network to link with my laptop. In Windows 10, old File Explorer favorites are now pinned under Quick access in the left side of File Explorer. My server drive is internal (ordered with my Dell Precision 7810) computer. In Win 7 and now my Win 10 upgrade, the search takes a minimum of 15 minutes and sometimes will run all night and never find anything. In my previous XP and earlier Windows versions I could perform a Windows Explorer file search using only a partial or full file name and Explorer would find all relevant files in a matter of a couple of minutes maximum, if not immediately (especially with Im really impressed by how well search works on Windows 10 2004, now that I have it configured for Enhanced search and rebuilt my search index.
